There is a growing conversation around masturbation and relationships. People have always engaged in masturbation for some the terms auto-eroticism and self-gratification may be a bit less jarring. If we thoughtfully read the bible and reflect on the ways of Jesus, it becomes clear that our sexuality is a good thing, a God-given thing. God is a mysterious and wonderful being of three personal expressions.
Masturbation is sex with demons. It defiles and destroys your body, the temple of the Holy Spirit. Every other sin a man commits is outside his body, but he who sins sexually sins against his own body. Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own.
Are there negative effects of masturbation or is it really a healthy and harmless way to release sexual tension as many believe? Is this really a safe practice for adolescents before marriage, or during a courtship to maintain "purity"? The truth is masturbation will kill you — physically, mentally and spiritually. Over time, this frequent release of brain chemicals can become addictive.
